I'm Steph. Steph Durwin (he/they).

 

If you don't know me, I'm a human being, trans & queer, musician, music recordist, educator, dog-dad, among many other things that make up my identity. I'm anxious-optimist on good days and a sad realist on bad ones. I spend the majority of my waking hours in NYC. In my non-waking hours, I drift among all the places I've been, and all the places I'll never go. I like skateboarding, writing music, playing fetch, & looking at stars.

The music I write is hopeful emo-folk. It is a more optimistic City & Colour, but not as pretty. More willing to show my flaws, and love them at the same time. Simple, yet profound lyrics capture the human condition, while maintaining lightness. This lightness provides a sense of humor and thread of hope.
